Receiver in the Canal (RIC)
Receiver in the Canal (RIC) hearing aids are a modern and discreet alternative to traditional Behind The Ear (BTE) models. These devices sit behind the ear but are smaller in size, featuring a thin wire that connects to a receiver placed directly in the ear canal.
This design offers a more cosmetic appearance while delivering superior sound quality, as the receiver sits closer to the eardrum, allowing for clearer and more natural sound.
Behind the Ear (BTE)
Behind the Ear (BTE) hearing aids are ideal for various levels of hearing loss, from mild to profound. Their discreet design can be customised to suit both acoustic and cosmetic preferences, with options for a slim tube or ear mould, depending on the degree of hearing loss.
BTE hearing aids help keep the ear canal open, which is especially beneficial for those with normal low-pitch hearing but high-pitch hearing loss. These devices often feature two microphones for better sound processing, longer-lasting batteries, and enhanced durability, as the electronics are protected outside the ear canal from moisture and wax.
When properly fitted, BTE hearing aids are discreet and can often be hard to see, making them a great option for those seeking both performance and subtlety.

Invisible in Canal (IIC) & Completely in Canal (CIC) Hearing Aids
Hearing aids that fit completely inside the ear canal, such as Invisible in Canal (IIC) and Completely in Canal (CIC) models, offer a discreet and cosmetically appealing solution.
They are ideal for mild to severe hearing loss and provide excellent performance during phone calls.
However, due to their small size, these devices can only accommodate a single microphone, which can limit their ability to process sound in noisy environments. Typically, hearing aids with dual microphones perform better in such conditions.
ITC (In The Canal) and ITE (In The Ear)
In The Canal (ITC) or In The Ear (ITE) hearing aids are suitable for mild to severe hearing loss.
Their larger size compared to CIC models allows for additional features such as two microphones for directional hearing in noisy environments, extra user controls, and a venting system (an air-hole that helps lower-pitched sounds escape for a more natural hearing experience).
These devices also perform well during phone use and are generally easy to insert and remove.

Most hearing aids with disposable batteries last between 7 to 10 days, depending on the battery size and the model. Additionally, many brands now offer lithium-ion rechargeable hearing aids, where the battery is built directly into the device, similar to a smartphone.
Direct streaming/AI
Recent advancements in hearing aid technology enable direct streaming from Apple or Android devices straight to your hearing aids. These devices now feature AI-powered capabilities like heart rate monitoring, fall detection, and tracking of body and brain health, improving both your hearing experience and overall well-being.
